Solilo is a voice-first, AI-enhanced journaling app designed to offer private emotional clarity and reflection.
Your data belongs to you. Your thoughts should be witnessed, not watched.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

• Email address (for account creation and login)

• Password (encrypted and hashed – we never store it in plain text)

• Optional name or nickname (if provided)

1.2 Voice and Journal Data

• Audio recordings — stored only if you choose to save them

• Transcripts — generated via secure speech-to-text APIs (e.g., OpenAI Whisper, Google Speech-to-Text)

• AI-enhanced entries — created when you apply grammar correction or rewrite features

• Photos, emojis, and tags you add to journal entries

• Titles and themes automatically generated by AI

• Community posts (if you choose to share anonymously in Nomad Voices)

• Device type, operating system, and language

• App version, usage logs, and performance data

• Crash reports and diagnostics (for maintenance and bug fixes)

2. How We Use Information

We use your information solely to operate and improve the Service, including:

• Providing core features (recording, transcription, AI enhancement, reflection)

• Generating personalized insights (e.g., Reflection Orbit and Starlight Reading)

• Maintaining security and performance of the app and servers

• Enabling premium features such as cloud sync and data export

• Providing customer support and bug resolution

• Operating optional anonymous community features

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest (AES-256 or equivalent).

• Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel only.

• We conduct regular security reviews and require vendors to meet industry-standard privacy and security compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

• Optional cloud backup and cross-device sync are available for Premium subscribers.

4. AI and Voice Privacy

• Transcripts and AI enhancements are processed via trusted, secure AI models.

• We do not use your entries to train public AI models unless you explicitly opt in.

• AI-generated insights (e.g., emotional summaries or reflections) are created solely for you.
  
  

5. User Control and Choices

You remain in control at all times. You can:

• Edit entries within the app’s 24-hour editing window (or longer for Premium users)

• Delete any entry at any time

• Export your data (TXT, PDF, JSON — Premium only)

• Opt out of voice recording storage and use transcription-only mode

• Use the app offline (with limited functionality)

• Request complete account deletion → all data is permanently removed from active systems within 30 days
  
  

6. Anonymous by Design

Solilo does not require your real name. In community features:

• You are identified only by your Nomad ID (a random identifier)

• No personal information is shown publicly

• Entries shared in “Nomad Voices” are not linked to your account
  
  

7. Third-Party Services

We use trusted vendors strictly to operate core functions:

• Voice transcription (OpenAI Whisper, Google Speech-to-Text)

• Cloud hosting (AWS, Supabase, or equivalent)

• Error and performance analytics (Amplitude, Sentry — anonymous data only)

They receive only the minimum necessary data and are contractually bound to protect it.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction).
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn we have done so, we delete it promptly.

9. Data Retention

• Free users: Entries older than 30 days may be archived or deleted unless you upgrade.

• Premium users: Entries are retained until you delete them or delete your account.

• Deleted data is purged from active systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.

  
  

10. International Users

Solilo operates globally, and your data may be processed in countries outside your own.
We ensure all data transfers comply with applicable laws and use secure mechanisms for cross-border processing.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our Service or legal requirements.
If material changes occur, we will notify you via app notification or email.
Continued use after notification means you accept the revised Policy.
